I was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2005.  My lump was discovered during a routine Doctor’s visit.  Although breast cancer runs in my family, I was a sporadic practitioner of breast self exams. My doctor was fairly confident that it was benign, but sent me in for a biopsy to be sure.  Fortunately, she took the cautious route since the biopsy results came back with a cancer diagnosis.  Finding other young survivors inspired me and helped me to get through surgery and chemo and begin my post-treatment life as a survivor
